Waiting Children

"We were very much impressed with WACAP's waiting child program, and during our previous adoption process came across positive comments about your agency in Web-group discussions."—Julie & Daniel

Adopting a Child Who is Waiting

WACAP's mission to find families for children goes beyond placing healthy infants with parents. At WACAP, we strive to find families for each and every child we hear about - regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, number of siblings, or special medical needs they may have. WACAP's Family Finders Team helps to find parents for those children who are waiting for adoptive families. These children range in age from infancy to mid-teens, and come from every country where we work. Families are often surprised to learn that there are generally many more boys available for adoption than girls worldwide. When you adopt a child who is waiting, the adoption process often takes less time, and you may be eligible to adopt a child with a fee reduction. Login to Search for Waiting Children.

Please click HERE to request the current Waiting Child password. Please note: due to confidentiality laws, these brief descriptions of children may not include all of the medical concerns found in their medical files.
  • If you are searching for a child with a confidential medical needs like  HIV or Hepatitis or Differences of Sexual Development please contact FamilyFinders@WACAP.org
  • If you are searching for a child with more minor vision issues or other health issues not listed here please contact FamilyFinders@WACAP.org
  • Please note almost every medical need can range from more minor to more complicated so we encourage parents to explore each child and each diagnosis individually.
  • We are unable to feature some children on this website. For information about children waiting in India and Thailand, please contact our Family Finders team.
I understand that children on this WACAP Waiting Child site are those for whom it is the hardest to find families and that the youngest, healthiest children are not featured here. To adopt a younger, healthier child, or one with mild, correctable needs, I should call 206-575-4550 or email FamilyFindersMailbox.
