Finding Homes for Children in Haiti
In 2014, WACAP was happy to be accredited by the Haitian Central Adoption Authority (IBESR) to assist in finding families for Haitian children living in orphanage care. We are thrilled to be using our 40 years of experience to help Haitian children in need. Haiti provides opportunities for married couples as well as single men and women, who dream of having a Haitian child join their family.
About the Children
You can adopt boys or girls from Haiti, that are typically between the ages of 12 months to 14 years old at the time they are matched with your family. You’ll find that many older children need homes and if you’re interested in adopting more than one child, sometimes siblings need to be adopted together. Some children with individual needs are also currently waiting for a family to call their own, and we’re here to help answer your questions. To see some of these children, visit our secure Waiting Child website or call our staff to learn more.
You can also apply to adopt a child who’s younger and considered by the Haitian government to be healthy. The Haitian Central Adoption Authority permits each agency to submit 12 dossiers per year for families hoping to adopt a younger child who is considered healthy, and right now WACAP is seeking families to fill that quota.
Adopting From Haiti
Both married couples and singles (on a case-by-case basis) are welcome to adopt from Haiti.
