Finding Homes for Children in China

Since 1990, we’ve united more than 2,000 children from China with their adoptive parents. WACAP’s experienced China adoption team has built a strong relationship with the China Center for Children’s Welfare and Adoption (CCCWA) and has a history of offering personalized adoption services to families. Our expert team will work closely with you to adopt the child waiting to become a part of your life.

About the Children

At any given time, about 2,000 children in China are ready to be matched with a family immediately, and WACAP staff can assist you in exploring whether one of these children is destined to be your son or daughter.

These children may be waiting for a family because they are older or because of an individual medical or developmental condition. You may be surprised to learn that many young boys are waiting for families in China, as well as girls. For more information and to see some of the children in China who currently need homes, you can visit our secure Waiting Child website or call us to learn more.

“Because we were open to a child who was a little older, we were matched almost immediately and came home from China with our 2-year-old daughter just months later. She’s now in first grade and up to grade level. We can’t imagine life without her, and we can’t thank WACAP enough. They helped us become a family." —WACAP Adoptive Parent

Adopting From China

For most families, the time it takes to adopt a child waiting for a family is usually within just a year of completing their homestudy.

Both married couples and single women are welcome to adopt from China.

To adopt from China, you must work with Hague-accredited homestudy and placing agencies.
