John
An avid fisherman, John has his own fishing gear, including pole and tackle box. When he can't fish, he daydreams that he's at some favorite spot. John also enjoys playing outdoor sports, riding his bike, and listening to country music. Because John truly enjoys having individual attention from the significant adults in his life, and can respond well to clear directions, expectations, and set time frames, he could thrive in a home as the youngest child.
In September 2011, John entered fifth grade, where he continues to benefit from extra support for reading and writing. His adoptive parents will need to be strong advocates to see that his educational needs are met during grade school, and that he has appropriate education and or vocational opportunities as an adolescent.
While John's social worker especially wants to hear from couples, he doesn't want to miss out on hearing from those exceptional single moms and dads who have strong support systems of family, friends, and community resources.
