In-Kind Donations


Donations needed for children
For every child who’s adopted, thousands still live in institutions or with families who can’t provide for their basic needs. WACAP is committed to helping as many of these children as we can. Since 1976, we’ve supplied vitamins, health care, medical supplies, toys, clothing and education to more than 200,000 children. We have long-term working relationships with organizations dedicated to children’s welfare. Items donated to WACAP are either given to needy children in the Seattle area or carried to orphanages overseas by traveling WACAP staff and families. We're no longer able to accept donations designated for particular countries, and we can send only new or like-new items, so please keep this in mind when making your donation. WACAP currently needs the following items for children living abroad:

Clothing

These children in China received new
jackets through WACAP's donation program.
  • Children’s clothing, all sizes, but especially for older children
  • Children’s underwear and T-shirts (new underwear only, please)
  • Children’s shoes, including boots and sandals
  • Cotton tights for children of all ages, especially 1–4 (dark colors are best)
  • Cloth diapers, disposable diapers and pull-ups
Please, no stained, torn or faded clothing—new or like new only.

Over-the-counter medicines and products
  • Multivitamins with iron
    • liquid (for infants)
    • chewable (for children)
  • Skin lotion (hypoallergenic preferred)
  • Baby oil 
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Children’s shampoo (no conditioner)
  • Bar soap for bathing (no antibacterial soap)
  • Lice medicine
  • Scabies medication
  • Sanitary pads
  • Bandages
  • Diaper rash ointment
  • Antibiotic ointment (Neosporin)
  • Gerber cereal
We cannot accept expired medications or products.

Miscellaneous items
  • Fitted crib sheets (dark colors preferred)
  • Waterproof bedding for cribs and beds
  • Receiving blankets
  • Baby bottles (plastic) and nipples (including preemie size and cleft lip/palate)
  • Developmental toys, including games and puzzles (no battery-operated or electronic toys, please)
  • Office supplies—such as adhesive notes, cellophane tape, pens
  • School supplies—such as pens, markers, scissors, colored pencils, pencils, calculators, book bags and notebooks
  • Disposable camcorders (CVS)
Please, no stuffed animals.
