We’re excited to announce the theme of WACAP's 2008 Children's Hope Gala and Auction: "A Passport to India." We’re also looking for volunteers to help with decorations, procurement, attendance and entertainment for the auction. Our major annual fundraiser celebrates adoptive families, and is always a cause for celebration in itself. Every year we honor adopted children and the love they spread throughout the world. Staff and volunteers are working hard to assemble the fantastic items and plan the five-star details you've come to expect from the Children's Hope Auction. We're delighted to announce that in honor of WACAP's new initiative to help orphans in Ethiopia, the internationally renowned African Children's Choir will be our special guests this year. Every year, 25 African children, ages 7 to 11, are chosen to participate in this choir, which performs traditional folk songs, spirituals and contemporary works. They've shared the stage with artists such as Bobby McFerrin and Mariah Carey, and have performed at the U.S. Capitol, the United Nations and the Pentagon as well as many of the world's most prestigious concert halls. Many of the children have lost one or both parents, and funds raised by the choir go to help other orphans in Africa. So set aside Dec. 1 for a memorable evening with the extended WACAP family, and watch for further details.

Silent auction starts at 5:45 p.m., with dinner and live auction to follow. Tickets are $125 each, or you can reserve a table for $1,250.
