WACAP Family Camp: Updates
It’s time to mark your calendar and make reservations for
the 31st annual WACAP Family Camp! Please join us Wednesday,
July 30 through Sunday, August 3, 2008, at Sun Lakes Park
Resort, located near Sun Lakes State Park on Highway 17,
between Soap Lake and Coulee City, Washington. (
Read
more about Sun Lakes accommodations.)
This summer’s Family Camp is packed with familiar favorites
and plenty of activities for tots to adults: Fashion Show,
Talent Show, Outdoor Market, Teen Center, a variety of sports/games,
Bingo, a Camp Dance, and much more! This year, we have added
new activities, and have moved some of the events around
to fully expand the Camp to five days.
|
WACAP Family Camp is now a
five-day event!
Families who register for the full camp (Wednesday
through Sunday) will receive priority in booking.
To give yourself the best chance of getting into
Camp, as well as being assigned your preferred accommodation,
please register early and sign up for all five days.
|
New Teen Center!
Most teens who come to the Teen Center are ages
13–15, so we have designed activities specifically
around this age group. Teens 13 and older are welcome
to participate. We think this change will better
serve our Camp population.

New DVD of WFC 2007
We are again offering a DVD, with photos and video
clips (accompanied by music) of last summer’s Camp.
Make a great memory for you and your family by pre-ordering
yours on the enclosed registration form, for only
$10 each. All DVDs will be available at WFC 2008.
|
Smile!
Our goal is to have a family picture for everyone
in the WFC Family Directory for 2008. Please e-mail
a photo (no larger than 300 x 400 pixels) to
or mail one (4 x 6 inches) to Kathi Bishop, 633
SE 2nd St., Hillsboro, OR, 97123. Include the names
and ages of your children, and please write your
name on the back of your photo if you’d like it
returned. After scanning, your photo will be returned
to you with your Final Packet at Camp. Final deadline
for photos is 6/30/08.

Extending Your Stay
If you plan to stay extra days at Sun Lakes, you’ll
need to coordinate your accommodations with both
the Resort Office (509-632-5291) and Laura
Gaukroger-Holland (509-667-1896); please call evenings
only, before 9 p.m. or
Sun Lakes Resort accepts mail reservations beginning
1/1/08 and phone requests beginning 2/1/08.

New Rates!
Although WACAP fully supports WFC, there are many
hidden costs that have not been covered for several
years. Rates have increased this year in order to
help the Camp break even. We have cut back our Camp
costs as much as possible to keep the increase reasonable.
Please read the registration form closely
for the new rates. To help offset some
of the cost, there will be no additional “Teen Fee”
for families with teens.
