Families adopting a child over age 3 need to attend these sessions in order to prepare for the different type of parenting that these children often require and to preview the changes that will occur in your family when your child comes home. Preparing for Placement
Meeting your child for the first time is an amazing experience in many ways. This emotional event is very complex due to your expectations, your child’s emotional reactions, age, being in a foreign country, among other things. Combining all of these at the same time can be overwhelming when you are beginning your life as a family. Your Adoption Finance Coach - "Meet the Coach" Session
WACAP is pleased to offer a service helping our families to develop a comprehensive financial plan for their adoption. This partnership provides live coaching, online-webinars and a financial gift registry service. We recognize that one of the first steps to completing an adoption is putting together the finances. The Adoption Finance Coaching system helps you put together a customized financial plan for your adoption and it's absolutely free to families who are in-process with WACAP. During this webinar, you will "Meet the Coach" Kelly Ellison. Participants will get a chance to learn about the resources available to help with adoption finances. Kelly will also questions about the Adoption Tax Credit, Grants, Loans and other adoption resources.

Families who do not live in Washington or Oregon, but who are having their homestudy performed by WACAP, are required to complete WACAP's online Hague package adoption training.
