WACAP currently seeks qualified applicants for the following positions:

International Adoption Case Manager Full-time position responsible for providing exceptional customer service (by telephone, in person, and in writing) and providing paperwork processing for caseload adoptive parents. Ensures that the best interests of the child and highest ethics in the adoption process prevail in all situations. Must believe in, promote, and market adoption as a positive means of creating families. Actively works to manage strong relationships with families and local, state, federal and international agencies in assigned countries for the purpose of placing orphaned and abandoned children for adoption.

Requirements: Detail oriented with outstanding phone, clerical and organizational skills. Efficient and flexible with a positive, outgoing personality and superb communication skills, and able to work well individually and as part of a team. Must maintain in-depth knowledge of WACAP’s programs, policies and practices, with a high regard for our mission. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Access. B.A. required.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR (AMERICORPS) Help WACAP use volunteers more effectively by creating a compelling, robust and organized volunteer program to be used throughout the agency. Assess WACAP from volunteer perspectives, and review our current and historical volunteer utilization. Create guidelines and best practices for a volunteer program. Recruit volunteers and recommend recruitment tools. Recommend volunteer activities and advise staff on integrating volunteers. Create volunteer job descriptions as well as assessment tools and monitoring procedures for volunteer positions.

Requirements: Car and valid Washington driver’s license. General administrative/clerical skills, computers, fundraising, recruitment, writing/editing. This is a full-time, 11-month position funded through AmeriCorps. Applicants should be 18–25 years of age. To apply, visit the AmeriCorps Web site.

VOLUNTEER FILM EDITORS to edit video footage profiling U.S. foster children waiting to be adopted. Your professional, creative editing will result in a two-minute video profile helping to capture each child’s personality while the child is engaged in a favorite activity. These videos are posted on our Web site to help connect them with potential families. Your work can change a child’s life and give them the one thing every child needs most: a family.
